Role
As the driving force behind SkySQL’s marketing and brand presence, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how the world’s most forward-thinking teams discover, understand, and adopt the next generation of cloud data infrastructure. You’ll blend creativity, technical acumen, and storytelling to champion our platform across every channel—from thought leadership and content creation to digital campaigns, sales enablement, and community building. Responsibilities:
Content Marketing and Thought Leadership
Publish high-quality technical and business oriented blog posts, whitepapers, and case studies demonstrating expertise in database solutions.
Create and distribute technical guides, how-tos, and industry insights.
Host regular webinars and virtual events to demonstrate product features and share industry insights.
Paid Advertising
Work with digital ad vendor to optimize PPC advertising on platforms like Google Ads and LinkedIn to target high-intent audiences.
Sales Enablement
Develop and maintain sales collateral, including presentations, case studies, and product brochures.
Provide the sales team with the tools, resources, and training needed to effectively sell the product.
Create and update competitive analysis and market research to inform sales strategies.
Collaborate with the sales team to gather feedback and continuously improve sales materials.
Track and analyze the effectiveness of sales enablement initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
Social Media Marketing
Leverage LinkedIn and X to engage with the tech community.
Share valuable content, company news, and participate in industry discussions.
Email Marketing
Build and nurture an email list to inform prospects and customers about updates, promotions, and educational content.
Create personalized and sequenced campaigns.
Influencer and Evangelist Marketing
Identify and collaborate with industry influencers and thought leaders.
Public Relations (PR)
Work closely with PR firm to issue press releases for significant milestones such as product launches, funding rounds, and major partnerships.
Engage with industry journalists, analysts and influencers for media coverage.
Website Management
Work closely with website vendor and oversee the website’s design, content, and functionality to ensure an optimal user experience.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Optimize the website for search engines to attract organic traffic.
Community Building
Foster a community around the product through forums, user groups, and events.
Encourage knowledge sharing and networking among users and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
5+ years in marketing roles within tech/SaaS industries required
Experience with open source software and community engagement required
Experience with databases and familiarity with the DBaaS industry and its market dynamics strongly preferred
Developer experience is strongly preferred
Forward-thinking in the use of AI, actively leverages AI tools (e.g., LLMs, copilots, automation) for productivity and marketing execution
Solid understanding of how AI is transforming data infrastructure, developer workflows, and application development, with the ability to communicate these trends to technical and business audiences
Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
